A message from David Hudson called "Standing Out From the Crowd", based around Daniel 3 and other Bible verses.

King Nebuchadnezzar made a decree, so that Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego had a choice to obey him or die. They decided that whether or not God rescued them, they would stand by their choice to obey God. It ended up with their influence massively increasing, because they allowed God to work so powerfully in their lives.

The first step to standing out from the crowd is to know what we believe. We must be: Convinced of the truth; Committed to the truth; Confident in the truth; Content with the truth.

The simplicity of our faith can be summarised as: Christ has died (to pay for my sins); Christ is risen; Christ will come again.

As "foreigners and strangers in a strange land", we are called to: Stand and see God's Deliverance; Seek solace in God's Strength; Sing and be God's Witnesses. This is dependent on knowing God in our hearts and minds. It is not dependent on our location or circumstances.

We need to own our own story so that: We earn the respect of the community; Our standing is honoured; We set direction; Our influence is increased; We know in Whom we have believed.
